Special Christmas guests

We had some very special guests this year for our traditional Swedish Christmas dinner. Late at night this koala mum with little joey on her back rocked up asking for leftovers ...

Merry Xmas everyone

Weekend in Melbourne

Image
Yoohoo, weekend away in Melbourne. While Morfar (Grandpa) took the girls to the Swedish Christmas party in Adelaide, Mum and Dad had their first trip away without the kids in almost six years. Taking a relaxed stroll through town, dining out, playing pool, shopping (Mikaela was in heaven at H&M), going to the musical and having a few too many drinks …. It was just great! Thanks again to the world’s greatest Morfar for letting us do this. We can get used to this !

School Christmas Carols night

Food and Carols night at Aldgate Primary. Here's Nora with her classmates from Reception and Year1. Its a bit hard to hear, but the song they are singing is called "Green, Green, Green". Just a few more days and then her first year at school is over. Nora has really enjoyed the reception class with Mrs. S and made lots of new friends. But now its time for the Summer Holidays !!!

Stirling Christmas Pageant

Image
Hohoho Santa’s back in town! The official start of the Christmas season for the Adelaide Hills is the Stirling Xmas Pageant. Big event with thousands of spectators. Nora with her school friends Charlize and Eden all dressed up as Zoo animals. Great fun! And guess what? The girls made it into the Adelaide Hills Courier newspaper ..

Rolling Stones

They may be over 70 years old, but the boys still know how to put on a rock’n roll show. We had an absolute great night with the Rolling Stones. What a wonderful way to officially open the new Adelaide Oval stadium. Adelaide rocked this night!

Birthdays Party

Yes, it was our big birthday week. Not just Ella, but also Mum celebrated another year on the counter. All the more reason for a party. This Saturday we had the best party weather ever, with temperatures high in the twenties. Great fun for kids and parents. Happy birthdays!

Happy Birthday Ella

Bali

Traveling with young kids is always a hassle, but when you travel to Bali it’s all worth it. And we did so this week in true Aussie style: limit culture to trying the local beers, and only do short ‘kids-friendly’ trips to the zoo and the beach. Otherwise just relax, do a bit of shopping, hang around the pool and wait for Happy-hour to start at 4pm. Kids easily help themselves with all the other families around, so before you know its way after bed time! Bali is perfect for families. From Adelaide it’s less than 5 hours flying, pretty close by for Aussie standards.  Also many resorts are fully catered for kids, including playgrounds and daily activities. Food is catered for all cultures and most of all it is soooo layed back and relaxed that mum and dad even forget about parenting from time to time. We just arrived back this morning, but we’re already longing for our next trip. We’ll be back ...
