The heat is on

Image
No floods here in South Australia. Although we had the wettest spring in decades, and the summer came very late, it has been fabulous weather since Christmas. Temperatures hovering around the 25-30C for weeks and weeks. Which means endless days on the beach and in the pool. And the best thing is that everyone is still in holiday mood. So work may have started again, but it’s all very relaxed. It’s only now that the first soaring hot days are forecasted .... had to happen eventually. Lucky for us we’re in the Hills, where it’s always a little bit cooler. To cool down a bit, just have a look at our  photo selection of last winter and spring. Hasn’t our little girl developed into a real lady?

More Visitors

Image
The New Year hardly has started, and yet more visitors arrived. This time it was Jessica and Joachim from Holland. They were washed away in the Queensland floodings over Christmas, so they were happy to find shelter in sunny South Australia. We did the whole touristy thing: beach, city, nature walks, wineries and many warm nights with BBQ and drinks. And of course Nora had a ball, with even more people to play with. Jes & Joachim: it was great having you around. And ten points for making it all the way Down Under !!! On a sad note, Grandpa had to leave after three month of hard work and great fun. The house looks tip-top shining now, so let’s hope nothing breaks while he is away. Luckily for us he is planning his comeback at the end of this year, so we just have to miss him for a short while. Thanks heaps Morfar for everything!

Fireworks

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a great time. We went to Elders Park in the city to join the kids New Years event with live music and (early) fireworks. It was a beautiful warm night, so perfect conditions for some serious dancing by Nora and many of her little friends...
