Number Two


Say hello to our latest addition of the family. Yes, we are expecting again! Twelve weeks into it, and the little one is already waving at us through the ultrasound. Very comfy it was moving around, clearly enjoying to be watched.

The news may come hardly as a surprise, since we’ve always wanted a second one. But its gonna be a big change. In particular for Nora, who will soon be a big sister. A role that will fit her just fine, as she loves to boss around others. Our little bubs will need to have some balls to stand up to her. But for now the little peach is still calm and peacefully enjoying mummy’s womb. Which it will keep doing until early October, if all goes to plan.

Meanwhile mummy has been enjoying morning sickness, food intolerance, nausea and all other typical symptoms of what is supposed to be the best period of her life. Aren’t you jealous?

PS. Bets are on. What do you think: boy or girl?

Wauw, geweldig, wat fijn voor jullie! Van harte gefeliciteerd guys, met de aanstaande gezinsuitbreiding. Ik ben heel benieuwd hoe Nora het zal doen als big sister, en ook hoe het leven voor jullie er uit gaat zien straks met z’n vieren. Boy or girl? Ik durf er geen wedje op te zetten. Volgens mij vindt Jan zo’n huis vol vrouwen wel erg gezellig, maar een zoontje om mee te voetballen is ook leuk natuurlijk. Wacht maar tot die twee kleintjes straks samen de tent (en tuin) gaan afbreken, dan mag morfar nog heel wat hekjes komen zetten…

Gefeliciteerd alvast met de tweede spruit. Hier wordt de eerste verwacht en wel tegen 24 juni dus kan elk moment komen. Best wel spannend.

Finally, after such a long wait, there she is: another little girl. And what a surprise she has for us: dark hair and dark eyes! Look who is there?!?

Yep, it’s for real. We are officially expecting! An Aussie-Swedish-Dutch-Frisian baby is in the making. In week sixteen now and it’s all looking very good. Due date is somewhere half March, at the end of the summer. For us it is of course the greatest news ever. Mikaela has followed a typical textbook pregnancy so far: some nausea, tiredness, mood swings and a totally messed up taste for food and snacks! She even dislikes chocolate now!!! How crazy can it get?!? But it’s all looking good. We already had an early ultrasound and we saw the little one actively twisting, turning and even waving at us. It was even making loops! Clearly it is having a good time in mummy’s womb. So once again we are ‘on the move’: another big and exciting change ahead of us. We can still hardly believe it ourselves. It’s such a new world to us that we often feel a bit lost. How do start a journey like this?!?
